Rome, September 30, 2026 – The Europe Today: Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, met with Sister Raffaella Petrini, President of the Governorate of Vatican City State, during her visit to Rome, according to AzerNews.
The meeting focused on relations between Azerbaijan and the Holy See and opportunities for expanding cooperation in cultural and humanitarian fields.
The sides discussed the development of joint initiatives and exchanges aimed at strengthening dialogue and cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Vatican.
The meeting was part of Leyla Aliyeva’s programme in Rome, which also included engagements with representatives of Vatican institutions and activities highlighting Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage.
