Lavrov Declares Russia Will Achieve Victory in Ukraine, Criticizes Western Interventions

New York, September 25, 2024, The Europe Today: Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has stated that Moscow will secure victory in Ukraine, asserting that this is the only language the West understands. Lavrov, who flew to New York for the 79th plenary session of the UN General Assembly, shared his thoughts with the Russian news agency TASS before departing.

Lavrov criticized Western interventions, saying, “Wherever the West infiltrates to ‘fix’ a crisis, things only get much worse.” He pointed to the devastating consequences of Western involvement in regions like Afghanistan, Iraq, and now Ukraine, claiming that these actions have only resulted in destruction and socio-economic problems.

The Russian diplomat expressed confidence in Russia’s eventual success, saying, “We have no doubt whatsoever that victory will be achieved.” Lavrov emphasized that Russia is united in response to what he described as a Western-led war using Ukrainian forces.

Lavrov also condemned the “rules-based international order” propagated by the US and its allies, accusing the West of using this concept to justify actions across various global regions without accountability.
