Harbin, February 8, 2025 – The Europe Today: President Asif Ali Zardari participated in the grand opening ceremony of the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin, China, on Friday, alongside Chinese President Xi Jinping and other Asian heads of state.
The prestigious event was attended by high-profile leaders, including the Sultan of Brunei, the President of Kyrgyzstan, and the Prime Minister of Thailand. The Asian Winter Games, taking place from February 7 to 14, have drawn over 1,200 athletes from 34 countries, with Pakistani winter athletes also competing in the event.
President Zardari’s presence at the opening ceremony underscores the significance of the games in fostering regional cooperation and strengthening people-to-people ties. The event serves as an avenue to deepen cultural collaboration among participating nations and to enhance sports diplomacy between Pakistan and China.
