Paris, March 12, 2025 – The Europe Today: The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has arrived in Paris on a state visit at the invitation of the President of the Republic of France, Emmanuel Macron.
Upon arrival at Orly International Airport, President Mirziyoyev was warmly welcomed by the French Minister of National Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research, Elisabeth Borne, the Commander of the Paris Military District, General Loic Mizon, and other senior officials. In honor of the high-ranking guest, the national flags of both nations were displayed, and a ceremonial guard of honor was formed.
A group of Uzbek compatriots residing in France, including students, researchers, and professionals, greeted President Mirziyoyev with great enthusiasm in front of the residence where the Uzbek delegation is staying. The President engaged in a heartfelt conversation with them, expressing his support and wishing them success in their academic and professional endeavors.
The main events of the state visit are scheduled for today, March 12. According to the official program, high-level Uzbek-French negotiations will be held at the Élysée Palace. President Mirziyoyev will also meet with the Director-General of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay, to discuss cooperation in education, science, and cultural heritage preservation. Additionally, he will participate in a roundtable discussion with representatives from leading French companies and financial institutions to strengthen economic ties between Uzbekistan and France.
This visit underscores the growing partnership between Uzbekistan and France, reflecting a shared commitment to enhancing diplomatic, economic, and cultural cooperation.
