Astana, May 26, 2025 – The Europe Today: The Press Service of the Akorda has released the official schedule for President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s engagements this week, highlighting a series of high-level diplomatic meetings and major international forums taking place in Kazakhstan.
On May 28–29, President Paul Kagame of the Republic of Rwanda is set to pay an official visit to Kazakhstan. The agenda includes discussions on the prospects of bilateral cooperation, as well as the signing of a number of bilateral agreements aimed at strengthening ties between the two nations.
Also on May 28, President Tokayev will meet with Anke Rehlinger, President of the Bundesrat of the Federal Republic of Germany, to further deepen interparliamentary and economic collaboration between Kazakhstan and Germany.
Simultaneously, President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova of North Macedonia and Prime Minister Andrej Plenković of the Republic of Croatia will arrive in Astana on a working visit from May 28 to 29. The visit is expected to include bilateral talks on regional cooperation and investment opportunities.
On May 29, President Tokayev will participate in the Astana International Forum, where he will engage in a number of meetings with the heads of official delegations, international organizations, and leading global companies, reaffirming Kazakhstan’s role as a hub for dialogue and global cooperation.
The week’s diplomatic activity will continue with the official visit of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to Kazakhstan on May 30. Her visit coincides with the 1st Central Asia–Italy Summit, which will be hosted in Astana and attended by the leaders of Central Asian countries. The summit will focus on expanding cooperation between Italy and the region in areas such as trade, energy, and security.
Culminating the week’s agenda, on May 31, President Tokayev will participate in events dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Political Repressions and Famine, honoring the memory of those who suffered during the tragic periods of Kazakhstan’s history.
Earlier, President Tokayev sent a congratulatory telegram to King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein and the people of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on the occasion of Jordan’s Independence Day, underscoring Kazakhstan’s commitment to fostering strong ties with friendly nations around the world.
The busy week reflects Kazakhstan’s active engagement on the international stage and its commitment to strengthening multilateral partnerships.
