President of Turkmenistan Invites Mongolian Counterpart to Ashgabat Forum Celebrating Neutrality Anniversary

Ulaanbaatar, June 4, 2025 – The Europe Today: President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, during an official visit to Mongolia, extended a formal invitation to Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh to attend an international forum in Ashgabat later this year. The forum will commemorate the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s status as a permanently neutral state and the United Nations-declared International Year of Peace and Trust.

According to Turkmenistan’s state news agency, President Berdimuhamedov also invited Mongolia to take part in the upcoming Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs), set to be held in August in the coastal city of Awaza, located on Turkmenistan’s Caspian Sea shoreline.

During their bilateral talks in Ulaanbaatar, the two heads of state reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening foreign policy cooperation, with a particular focus on promoting regional and global stability. Discussions also addressed joint efforts toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with an emphasis on key areas such as environmental protection, food security, energy, and transport connectivity.

“Turkmenistan and Mongolia reaffirmed their strong commitment to steadily and confidently building long-term relations based on friendship, equality, and mutual benefit,” President Berdimuhamedov stated during the talks.

As part of the Turkmen leader’s official visit, a Turkmen-Mongolian business forum was convened in Ulaanbaatar, aiming to boost trade, investment, and economic collaboration between the two countries.

The visit and associated events underscore both nations’ desire to deepen diplomatic and economic ties while working collaboratively on pressing regional and international challenges.
