Islamabad, August 6, 2025 – The Europe Today: Qaiser Nawab, Chairman of the Belt and Road Initiative for Sustainable Development (BRISD), called on the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Pakistan, His Excellency Mr. Khazar Farhadov, at the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Islamabad.
The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, with a particular emphasis on expanding trade, investment, and connectivity under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) framework.
Ambassador Farhadov shared Azerbaijan’s strategic vision under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev to transform the country into a major regional hub for connectivity along the historic Silk Road. He highlighted the significance of the Zangezur Corridor and the emerging opportunities in the Nakhchivan region, positioning it as a vital gateway to Eurasia and a central link between various countries.
Chairman Qaiser Nawab appreciated Azerbaijan’s proactive regional role and expressed BRISD’s commitment to supporting inclusive development and cross-regional linkages through youth, innovation, and climate diplomacy. He reiterated the importance of deepening economic and people-to-people ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan.
Ambassador Farhadov acknowledged the growing trade and economic relations between the two brotherly nations and assured his full support in further enhancing cooperation across multiple sectors.
The meeting concluded with a mutual understanding to explore new avenues of partnership under the spirit of regional collaboration and sustainable growth.
