Turkmenistan and Ireland Discuss Expanding Cooperation in Politics, Trade, and Energy

Dublin, August 30, 2025 – The Europe Today: Yazmurad Seryaev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Ireland (residing in London), conducted a series of working meetings in Dublin on August 25–26, 2025, aimed at advancing cooperation between the two countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported.

As part of the visit, Ambassador Seryaev met with Ralph Victory, Deputy Chief of Protocol at Ireland’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and presented copies of his credentials. Victory congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and affirmed Ireland’s readiness to support the successful implementation of his diplomatic mission.

On August 26, the ambassador held talks with Fiona Nic Dhonnacha, Deputy Director for Political Affairs at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Colm Hayes, Director General of Global Ireland. The discussions centered on opportunities for cooperation in the political and trade-economic spheres, as well as in renewable energy and education. The sides also exchanged views on strengthening collaboration within international organizations.

Ambassador Seryaev briefed the Irish counterparts on Turkmenistan’s foreign policy priorities, emphasizing the country’s commitment to fostering friendly and equitable partnerships worldwide, along with its ongoing economic development initiatives.

Turkmenistan and Ireland formally established diplomatic relations in October 2007.
