Vietnamese Leaders Commemorate 51st Anniversary of National Reunification in Đà Nẵng

Đà Nẵng, April 25, 2026 – The Europe Today: Party General Secretary and State President Tô Lâm, who also serves as Secretary of the Central Military Commission, on Saturday led a high-ranking delegation in offering flowers and incense at the Đà Nẵng City Memorial to honor fallen combatants, marking the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – 2026).

The solemn ceremony was attended by members of the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Party Central Committee, along with senior leaders of the Party and State, representatives from central committees, ministries, sectors, and officials from Đà Nẵng city and Military Region 5.

In a deeply respectful and sacred atmosphere, Tô Lâm and accompanying delegates observed a moment of silence, bowing their heads in tribute to the heroic martyrs, compatriots, and comrades. The participants expressed profound gratitude for the immense sacrifices made by millions of Vietnamese who dedicated their youth and lives in the struggle for national liberation, independence, and territorial integrity.

The ceremony highlighted the enduring legacy of patriotism and unity that contributed to the reunification of Vietnam and the continued building and protection of the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland.

Following the commemoration, the top leader and his delegation visited and presented gifts to Heroic Vietnamese Mother Huỳnh Thị Mễ, born in 1924, in Hòa Cường ward of Đà Nẵng. She is recognized for her family’s sacrifices, having lost her husband and one son in the struggle for national independence.
