Algiers, July 1342026 – The Europe Today: Vietnam and Algeria have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening traditional friendship and expanding bilateral cooperation during a working session between Vietnamese Ambassador Trần Quốc Khánh and the leadership of Algeria’s ruling National Liberation Front (FLN) at the party’s headquarters in Algiers.
Ambassador Khánh said Vietnam highly values its longstanding friendship and cooperation with Algeria, describing the North African nation as one of Vietnam’s key partners in Africa. He expressed confidence that relations between the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the FLN would continue to grow stronger, providing a solid political foundation for advancing comprehensive and effective bilateral cooperation.
The ambassador thanked the FLN leadership and Algerian institutions for their support throughout his diplomatic tenure and expressed hope that FLN Secretary-General Abdelkrim Benmbarek would visit Vietnam in the near future to further enhance high-level exchanges and strengthen the traditional partnership between the two countries.
FLN Secretary-General Abdelkrim Benmbarek praised Ambassador Khánh’s contributions to promoting Vietnam-Algeria relations and reaffirmed his party’s commitment to expanding cooperation with the CPV. He emphasized that the enduring friendship between the two nations is rooted in their shared history of anti-colonial struggle and their common aspirations for peace, independence, social justice, prosperity, and sustainable development.
Both sides agreed to continue implementing the cooperation agreement between the two ruling parties while enhancing collaboration in political, economic, trade, investment, education, and people-to-people exchanges. They also stressed the importance of preserving the historic legacy of solidarity by promoting greater engagement between younger generations and expanding cooperation among socio-political organizations.
