Baku, September 25, 2026 — The Europe Today: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Kai-Fu Lee, Chief Executive Officer of China’s 01.AI and Sinovation Ventures, and Filippo Malinverno, Coordinator for International Summits and Head of Development in Saudi Arabia at Italy’s TEHA Group, in Baku on September 24.
The guests thanked President Aliyev for receiving them and confirmed their participation in the Second Azerbaijan International Investment Forum, which will be held in Baku under the patronage of the Azerbaijani president. They highlighted the significance of the forum in promoting investment and international business cooperation.
President Aliyev emphasized Azerbaijan’s close relations with China and Italy, noting that companies and business representatives from both countries are investing in Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, the sides noted the approval of the “Artificial Intelligence Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2025–2028” and highlighted the country’s favorable business environment and the conditions created for both domestic entrepreneurs and foreign investors.
The discussions also focused on the practical application of artificial intelligence in areas including green energy, cybersecurity and education.
The sides exchanged views on opportunities to develop cooperation between Azerbaijan and the companies represented by the visiting business leaders, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence and related emerging technologies.
