Russia, US Discuss Potential Mutually Beneficial Economic Cooperation Projects

Russia

Turkmenbashi, October 9, 2026 – The Europe Today: Russia and the United States are discussing a range of potential economic cooperation projects that could benefit both countries, Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said on Friday.

Speaking to reporters in Turkmenbashi, Turkmenistan, Peskov confirmed that discussions were underway on possible areas of economic engagement between Moscow and Washington.

“Indeed, a discussion is under way on a whole range of possible projects for economic cooperation, which would potentially be mutually beneficial,” Peskov said in response to a question from Russian broadcaster Vesti.

The Kremlin spokesman had earlier indicated that Russian and US officials were discussing the possibility of establishing contacts and pursuing cooperation in the economic sphere during their meetings.

The discussions signal continued consideration of potential areas for economic engagement between the two countries, although specific projects, timelines and implementation details have not been publicly outlined in the statement.

Further developments will depend on the progress of the ongoing discussions and the willingness of both sides to advance mutually beneficial economic initiatives.
