Baku, October 4, 2025 – The Europe Today: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has shared a message on his official social media accounts on the occasion of 3 October – Turkic States Cooperation Day.
In his post, President Aliyev highlighted the historical significance of the date, recalling that it was on 3 October 2009 that the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was founded in Nakhchivan, one of Azerbaijan’s ancient lands.
“3 October is Turkic States Cooperation Day. It was on this day in 2009 that the Organization of Turkic States was founded in Azerbaijan’s ancient land of Nakhchivan. I wish to sincerely congratulate the Turkic world on this significant day. The Turkic world is our family!” the post read.
The Head of State noted that over the past 16 years, the organization has grown stronger, expanded its membership, and gained greater global influence. He underlined the OTS’s contribution to enhancing cooperation among member countries across political, economic, and humanitarian fields, as well as reinforcing solidarity among Turkic peoples.
President Aliyev reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s commitment to promoting closer ties within the Turkic world, declaring: “Azerbaijan will continue its efforts to strengthen the unity of the Turkic world. Our brotherhood is eternal!”
