Baku, November 16, 2025 – The Europe Today: President Ilham Aliyev has expressed confidence that the agreements reached in Washington this past August regarding the connection of mainland Azerbaijan with its Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic will significantly enhance international transit opportunities.
Speaking at the 7th Consultative Meeting of Heads of State of Central Asia in Tashkent, President Aliyev stated that construction of the Zangezur Corridor on Azerbaijan’s territory is nearing completion.
He further highlighted that the railway, designed with an initial capacity of 15 million tons, is expected to serve as a key artery for the Middle Corridor, strengthening regional connectivity and international transport networks.
