Al Farabi Kazakh National University Showcases Scientific and Innovative Prowess in Urumqi Exhibition

Urumqi, January 28, 2024, The Europe Today: The Al Farabi Kazakh National University marked a significant milestone by organizing its inaugural scientific and innovative exhibition in Urumqi, the Uygur Autonomous Region of Xinjiang. The event, attended by 196 rectors and heads of scientific research centers from local universities, representatives of over 600 universities in China, leaders of 40 major enterprises, and diplomatic officials from Kazakhstan and China, showcased the university’s cutting-edge contributions to the field of science and innovation.

Vice Minister of Kazakh Science and Higher Education, Darkhan Akhmed-Zaki, along with Chairman and Rector of Al Farabi Kazakh National University, Zhansseit Tuimebayev, and a delegation of 30 scientists from the university actively participated in the exhibition.

The showcase featured a diverse array of scientific and innovative projects from the university. Highlights included the Chemical Coating Innovations scientific and production center, specializing in the production of galvanic packages. The center, inaugurated as part of the 90th-anniversary celebrations of the university, demonstrated its innovative products.

University scientists presented biologically active supplements and phytoteas derived from medicinal plants, highlighting advancements in natural health solutions. Among the featured projects was a space-borne nano-space vehicle developed at the university, the ALFASAT innovative constructor for space robotic development, and a STEM education system for educational institutions.

A notable exhibit showcased a new device and innovative approach to restoring vascular permeability, underscoring the university’s commitment to pioneering medical solutions.

The exhibition also facilitated an international scientific symposium where universities from Kazakhstan and China discussed common goals and directions for scientific and educational cooperation. The Al Farabi Kazakh National University and Xinjiang University concluded the event by signing memoranda and an agreement of mutual understanding to establish a joint research center for Kazakh-Chinese universities, further strengthening collaborative efforts in the field of science and innovation.
