Otocec, April 2, 2025 – The Europe Today: The WTT Feeder Otocec II international table tennis tournament in Otocec, Slovenia, is reaching its final stages, with Team Kazakhstan delivering a mixed performance.
In the Women’s Doubles ⅛ final, Zauresh Akasheva and Sarvinoz Mirkadirova secured a 3:1 victory against Slovenia’s Katarina Strazar and Lea Paulin. However, in the quarterfinals, the Kazakh duo fell to Japan’s Takeya Misuzu and Akae Kaho with a score of 1:3.
In the Men’s Doubles ⅛ final, Kazakhstan’s Aidos Kenzhigulov and Sanzhar Zhubanov were eliminated after a 1:3 loss to Austria’s Maciej Kolodziejczyk and Croatia’s Ivor Ban.
Meanwhile, in the Men’s Singles 1/16 final, Kirill Gerassimenko faced a tough defeat against France’s Joe Seyfried, losing 2:3 in a closely contested match.
Earlier, Gerassimenko was crowned the absolute national table tennis champion of Kazakhstan, highlighting his dominance in the sport at the national level.
