Turkmen Ambassador to Romania Explores Educational Collaboration with Romania’s Petroleum and Gas University

Bucharest, March 06, 2024, The Europe Today: Turkmen Ambassador to Romania, A. Annaev, embarked on a visit to the Petroleum and Gas University of Ploesti, where he engaged in constructive discussions with the university’s rector, Alin Dinica. The meeting focused on fostering further collaboration in the field of higher education between Turkmenistan and Romania.

During the discussions, Rector Dinica expressed his eagerness to deepen and expand the mutually beneficial cooperation between the two nations. The Romanian side warmly welcomed the existing ties established through the Cooperation Agreement of 2017 between the Yagshygeldi Kakaev International University of Oil and Gas and the Ploiesti Oil and Gas University.

The Turkmen delegation extended an offer to support the participation of professors and students from the Ploiesti Oil and Gas University in international scientific conferences and olympiads scheduled to take place in Turkmenistan in the first half of 2024. Additionally, they proposed organizing lectures on transport and energy diplomacy of Turkmenistan for students of the Romanian university throughout the year.

A consensus was reached to hold joint cultural events, including round tables and conferences, between the Ploiesti Oil and Gas University and the Turkmen Embassy in honor of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the esteemed Turkmen poet, Magtymguly Fragi.

As part of his visit, Ambassador Annaev engaged with Turkmen students studying at the Oil and Gas University of Ploesti. Addressing the students, the ambassador emphasized the close attention of Turkmenistan’s leadership to the concerns and aspirations of Turkmen youth.

The collaborative efforts discussed during the visit signify a positive step towards enhancing educational ties between Turkmenistan and Romania, fostering cultural exchange, and promoting a deeper understanding of each other’s academic and diplomatic endeavors.
