The comprehensive and long term development reforms have profound significance in upholding the rights and freedoms of individuals while actively involving diverse segments of the population in country policies. The ambitious implementation of large-scale initiatives spanning industrial development, diversification of hydrocarbon exports, establishment of international transport corridors, space exploration endeavors, urban revitalization, and elevation of living standards underscores our unwavering commitment to advancing the country’s interests and welfare.
Socio-Economic Development Programs
The Social and Economic Development Program for the years 2022–2052 actively engages in addressing critical tasks concerning the legislative framework for national programs. This year’s legislative focus encompasses areas such as social policies, the economy, scientific innovation, culture, digital systems, environmental preservation, wildlife management, agriculture, foreign policy, and local governance, with the primary goal being the preparation of bills that resonate with the spirit of the era, thus elevating national legislation to new heights. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s directives to deputies underscore the importance of aligning legislation with contemporary needs and aspirations, aiming for progressive legal development.
Laws enacted in accordance with the Turkmenistan Constitution create ample opportunities for maintaining the political, economic, and social rights of citizens, ensuring each person’s rights to life, freedom, family, improved living conditions, work, rest, and education. The primary objective of strengthening and modernizing the national legal framework is the development of laws aimed at coordinating the interests of the state, society, and every individual.
Simultaneously, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has instructed the maintenance of high-quality and timely execution of planned work for 2024 within the framework of the Social and Economic Development Program for 2022-2028. Emphasis has also been placed on the significant role of the banking sector in socioeconomic development, with instructions given to finance projects contributing to sustainable economic growth and improving social living conditions. Presently, under the visionary leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the momentum of these reforms continues to progress, leading the nation towards a future of progress and prosperity.
Foreign Policy
In terms of foreign policy, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s pursuits aim at bolstering the well-being of its people, enhancing economic potential, and fostering international and regional cooperation. Country maintains bilateral and multilateral relations with countries worldwide and international as well as regional organizations, fostering productive partnerships and realizing joint international and regional projects and initiatives. The nation’s parliamentary diplomacy aligns with its neutral and foreign policy, acts as a balancer and facilitates relations with foreign parliaments, participates in international parliamentary organizations, forms friendship groups, and undertakes joint initiatives. The implementation of the “Dialogue: A Guarantee of Peace” philosophy fosters Turkmenistan’s commitment to peaceful coexistence and constructive dialogue on the global stage. The dedication extends to various global organizations, including the UN, the Organization of Turkic States, the Economic Cooperation Organization, the International Organization for Migration, the World Tourism Organization, and others. President Berdimuhamedov has also prioritized the systematization of cooperation among regional partners. Turkmenistan reaffirms its dedication to a constructive foreign policy aimed at fostering equal and comprehensive cooperation with all interested foreign partners. This far-sighted strategy aligns with the overarching goals of collective prosperity and progress, earning widespread recognition and support from the international community and cementing Turkmenistan’s esteemed position on the global stage.
Turkmenistan is in the process of establishing an extensive network of transport and logistics infrastructure, connecting East-West and North-South routes. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s vision for international transport corridors promises enhanced connectivity and economic integration across regions, fostering mutual prosperity. Stressing the importance of political logistics in fostering international cooperation, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov advocates for collaboration based on equality, mutual respect, and consideration of each other’s interests.
