Ambassador of Kazakhstan Meets Pakistani Defence Minister to Discuss Bilateral Cooperation

Islamabad, April 02, 2024, The Europe Today: His Excellency Mr. Yerzhan Kistafin, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, recently engaged in a fruitful meeting with His Excellency Mr. Khawaja Muhammad Asif, the Minister of Defence of Pakistan. The encounter focused on bolstering bilateral cooperation between the two nations, particularly in the realms of defense and strategic partnerships.

During the meeting, Ambassador Kistafin extended warm congratulations to Minister Khawaja Asif on his appointment as the Head of the Defence Ministry of Pakistan, expressing sincere wishes for his success during his tenure. Additionally, Ambassador Kistafin provided insights into the current agenda of Kazakh-Pakistani cooperation and outlined key activities planned for the ongoing year.

Furthermore, Ambassador Kistafin shed light on Kazakhstan’s chairmanship in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) and the forthcoming events scheduled to take place in Kazakhstan. Notably, he highlighted the upcoming meeting of Defence Ministers from SCO member states and extended a cordial invitation to Minister Khawaja Asif on behalf of the Minister of Defence of Kazakhstan to attend the event in Astana.

In response, Minister Khawaja Asif emphasized the significant potential for further enhancing cooperation between Kazakhstan and Pakistan across various sectors, including military, military-technical, and other strategic domains. Expressing gratitude for the invitation, Minister Khawaja Asif affirmed his commitment to participate in the upcoming event in Astana, underscoring Pakistan’s dedication to fostering robust partnerships within the SCO framework.
