Hanoi, May 13, 2024, The Europe Today: In response to the escalating tourism demand, a new high-speed boat service connecting Ho Chi Minh City (HCM City) and Côn Đảo Island off the southern province of Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu was inaugurated on Monday, offering travelers a swift and convenient mode of transportation.
Operated by Phú Quốc Express Boat JSC, the Thang Long ship, a state-of-the-art four-storey single-body high-speed vessel measuring 77.46 meters in length and 11 meters in width, embarks on three weekly voyages between the two destinations.
Departing from Hiệp Phước Wharf in Nhà Bè District in HCM City, the ship voyages to Bến Đầm Port in Côn Đảo, with the journey spanning approximately five hours. To facilitate seamless travel for passengers, complimentary shuttle buses will be available from the September 23 Park in downtown District 1 to the wharf terminal.
Ticket prices for the voyage range from VNĐ615,000 (US$25) to VNĐ1.1 million ($43) one-way, varying according to the class and departure time selected by passengers.
Boasting a capacity to accommodate 1,017 travelers across its three floors, the Thang Long ship offers a comfortable and spacious journey experience. Equipped with modern amenities, including a cafeteria on the top floor, the vessel ensures a pleasant and enjoyable travel experience for passengers.
Constructed to international standards and outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment, the ship prioritizes maritime safety, boasting robust safety systems capable of withstanding gales of 62-74km/h. The introduction of this new high-speed boat service presents travelers with a viable alternative to air travel, providing a convenient and scenic route to reach Côn Đảo Island, previously accessible only by air. Spanning a distance of 230 kilometers, the route represents the longest journey between the Vietnamese mainland and a tourism island, offering passengers unparalleled opportunities to explore the pristine beauty of Côn Đảo.
