Quba, July 18, 2024, The Europe Today: The Northern Regional Centre of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan organized a series of educational events on the topic “Ensuring Citizens’ Voting Rights” in Quba and Gusar, in connection with the upcoming extraordinary elections to the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan, according to media reports.

These events, attended by local youth and public representatives, aimed to provide comprehensive information on the electoral process. B. Afandiyev, head of the Regional Centre, elaborated on various aspects of the Electoral Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the organization of the voting process, the rights and duties of observers, the functions of election commission members, and voters’ rights.
Afandiyev emphasized that these events are part of a broader initiative by the Ombudsman’s Office to educate the population about their voting rights, ensuring a well-informed electorate ahead of the elections. The initiative underscores the commitment to promoting democratic participation and safeguarding the integrity of the electoral process in Azerbaijan.
