Islamabad, August 14, 2024, The Europe Today: MTZ Plant, a renowned Belarusian manufacturer of agricultural machinery, has marked a significant milestone in its international expansion by signing a strategic cooperation agreement and several commercial contracts with key Pakistani companies. The agreements were finalized during a visit by the General Director of MTZ, Vitaly Vovk, to Islamabad and Lahore.
In Islamabad, Mr. Vovk signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Pakistani firms Shahzad Trade Link and HBL Zarai Services. This partnership underscores the long-standing relationship between Pakistan and MTZ, a country where MTZ has historically supplied its BELARUS tractors, particularly models with a horsepower range of 50-80. The new strategic direction of the Belarusian company in the Pakistani market is focused on promoting more powerful machinery, specifically tractors with a horsepower exceeding 100. The agreements reached not only cover the promotion and sales of these advanced machines but also ensure their maintenance and service.
MTZ is also exploring the potential for establishing demonstration sites and mobile service centers for agricultural machinery across various provinces in Pakistan. This initiative will be executed through the current dealer network and the involvement of new companies, enhancing the accessibility and service of MTZ products in the region.
Further solidifying their commitment, MTZ signed an additional agreement with Mr. Shahzad Riaz, the owner of Shahzad Trade Link, to supply tractors valued at $25 million and spare parts worth $1.4 million. The deliveries are scheduled to take place between August and December.
In Lahore, MTZ’s participation in the International Food Hospitality & Beverage Industry Exhibition and Conference led to another pivotal commercial agreement. During the event, Mr. Vovk signed a deal with Mr. Raza Fecto, the owner of Fecto Belarus Tractors (Private) Limited, further expanding MTZ’s footprint in the Pakistani market.
These agreements represent a significant step in MTZ’s strategy to enhance its presence in Pakistan, bringing advanced agricultural machinery to the region and strengthening its long-term partnerships with local companies.
