Astana, September 13, 2024 — The Europe Today: Uzbekistan’s athletes have delivered an impressive performance at the 5th World Nomad Games, currently underway in Astana. With a total of 32 medals, including 11 gold, 12 silver, and 9 bronze, Uzbekistan has secured second place in the overall team standings.
Notable victories came from talented athletes Murodil Muradillayev, Otabek Khasanov, and Jamshid Yuldashev, who each claimed gold in their respective weight categories, contributing to Uzbekistan’s success at the prestigious event.
The World Nomad Games continue to celebrate cultural heritage through various theatrical ethnosports events. Alongside the competitions, an exhibition-fair showcasing artisans’ crafts and a traditional music competition featuring masters of national folklore are being held.
In a gesture of friendship and solidarity, the International Kurash Association served Uzbek pilaf at the festival of national dishes, symbolizing the strong ties between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
