Student’s Essay Selected for ORIC Industrial Open House 2025

Lahore, May 8, 2025 – The Europe Today: We are proud to announce that Minahil Rafique, a student of BS History at Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), has had her project essay titled “The Historical Connectivity between the Belt & Road Initiative (BRI) and the Old Silk Route Traditions” officially selected for presentation at the ORIC Industrial Open House 2025, held on 8th May 2025.

This essay explores the deep historical connection between China’s modern Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the ancient Silk Route, highlighting how both have fostered trade, cultural exchange, and global connectivity across centuries. The research reflects the student’s ability to link history with contemporary geopolitical and economic developments.

Previously, Minahil achieved 3rd position in an international essay competition hosted by the Communication University of China and also had her work published on global platforms. Her participation in the ORIC Open House 2025 showcases the value of historical research in addressing modern global challenges.
