Minsk, September 24, 2024 – The Europe Today: Belarus and Kazakhstan are set to expand their political and cultural cooperation, according to Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Belarus, Timur Zhaksylykov. Speaking after a meeting with Minsk Mayor Vladimir Kukharev, the ambassador highlighted the strong multilateral collaboration between the two nations.
“Minsk is a key industrial, scientific, technological, educational, and cultural hub in Belarus,” Zhaksylykov said. Currently, the two countries are engaged in 11 major industrial projects, valued at $200 million, with Belarusian enterprises like Minsk Tractor Works, MAZ, and Amkodor playing an active role in Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan ranks as Belarus’ third most important trading partner, following Russia and China, reflecting the vibrant trade relations between the two nations.
The ambassador emphasized plans to deepen cooperation across political and cultural spheres.
Mayor Kukharev thanked Kazakhstan for its collaborative efforts, expressing Minsk’s commitment to strengthening ties in all sectors. “Success comes when we consider the interests of our partners,” he said.
The meeting also discussed the Kazakhstan Quarter project in Minsk, covering over 39,200 square meters with housing and parking for 300 cars. The project is set for completion following final approvals in November.
