Beijing, October 30, 2024 – The Europe Today: Chinese Premier Li Qiang met with Finnish President Alexander Stubb on Tuesday to discuss deepening cooperation between China and Finland across key economic and cultural areas. The meeting underscored the commitment of both nations to expand their future-oriented new-type cooperative partnership, established to foster bilateral development and mutual benefits.
Premier Li highlighted the positive trajectory of China-Finland relations and emphasized China’s dedication to advancing the consensus achieved by the heads of state. Li noted the ongoing challenges in global trade, emphasizing that both openness and cooperation are essential to economic growth. “China is ready to collaborate with Finland to promote trade, especially in areas like circular economy, smart energy, information and communication, as well as agricultural and food products,” he said, adding that such partnerships will drive higher-level mutual benefits.
As part of enhancing trade relations, Li assured that China will continue to foster a competitive, legally grounded business environment, welcoming Finnish companies to expand their operations in China. He further encouraged Finland to offer a fair and transparent environment for Chinese enterprises in Finland, expressing hopes for Finland’s role in boosting China-Europe trade ties.
President Stubb responded positively, affirming Finland’s commitment to the partnership and noting the importance of collaboration in areas such as green energy, sustainable development, and trade.
