Forum of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of Central Asia Held in Bishkek, Turkmenistan Represented by Key University Leaders

Bishkek, November 22, 2024 – The Europe Today: On November 20, 2024, the Forum of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of Central Asia convened in Bishkek, bringing together prominent academic leaders from across the region. The delegation of Turkmenistan was represented by the rectors of three key institutions: N. Kuliyev from the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics, B. Tanryberdiev from the Turkmen State Financial Institute, and O. Ovezsahedov from the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly.

The forum provided an opportunity for the Turkmenistani rectors to highlight the notable achievements of the nation’s educational system and the strategic initiatives led by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. A particular focus was placed on the development of Arkadag, Turkmenistan’s first “smart city,” which is equipped with modern digital technologies and aims to revolutionize the nation’s educational landscape.

During the event, discussions also emphasized the ongoing commemoration of the 300th anniversary of the renowned poet Makhtumkuli Fragi. Several reports outlined the international scientific conferences, literary competitions, and research projects that are dedicated to preserving and promoting his cultural legacy.

At the conclusion of the forum, the participants expressed a strong interest in fostering further cooperation with Turkmen universities and praised the valuable information shared by the delegation. The event served as an important platform for strengthening academic ties and advancing regional collaboration in higher education.
