Tashkent, February 2, 2025 – The Europe Today: The Uzbekistan-France Business Forum, recently held in Tashkent, underscored the strengthening economic partnership between the two countries. Over the past seven years, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and France has increased fivefold, reaching $1.13 billion. The forum brought together representatives from more than 50 major French companies to explore investment opportunities and discuss further cooperation.
During the event, participants received comprehensive insights into Uzbekistan’s investment climate, including measures taken to safeguard the rights and interests of foreign investors. Discussions focused on the potential of local industries and key investment opportunities, particularly in the energy, mining, transportation, and tourism sectors, where French companies have already established successful operations.
Roundtable discussions featured representatives from Uzbek ministries, government agencies, and French business executives, fostering dialogue on new investment avenues. The forum highlighted that the number of French companies operating in Uzbekistan has quadrupled in recent years, with 50 enterprises now active in vital sectors such as construction, agriculture, and tourism.
The forum also facilitated B2B and B2G meetings, allowing participants to exchange views, propose new initiatives, and establish valuable business contacts. These engagements resulted in agreements aimed at enhancing trade and investment cooperation. Given the vast potential for direct collaboration between the business communities of both nations, discussions also included proposals for implementing promising new projects.
The Uzbekistan-France Business Forum reaffirmed the commitment of both countries to deepening economic ties and expanding bilateral trade and investment partnerships.
