Turkmenistan to Host 10th Turkmen-Armenian Intergovernmental Meeting to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

Ashgabat, March 16, 2025 – The Europe Today: Turkmenistan is set to host the 10th meeting of the Turkmen-Armenian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, as announced by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Amanov during a Cabinet meeting on Friday. The official media of Turkmenistan reported on the ongoing preparations for this significant event.

The upcoming meeting will focus on enhancing bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and Armenia in various sectors, including trade and economy, fuel and energy, finance, science and education, high technologies, sports, culture, healthcare, transport and communication. Additionally, discussions will address the strengthening of the legal framework and interregional ties.

During the Cabinet meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Amanov presented the proposed composition of the Turkmen side of the Commission to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The President stressed the importance of meticulous preparation and approved the proposed composition, instructing Amanov to ensure the completion of all necessary arrangements.

In a related development, on March 13, 2025, Muhammetgeldi Ayazov, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Armenia, met with Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan. During the meeting, Ayazov conveyed an invitation to participate in the forum of the International Year of Peace and Trust, commemorating the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality. The invitation was extended on behalf of the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
