Samarkand, April 25, 2025 – The Europe Today: The National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, concluded his two-day official visit to Samarkand, marking another milestone in the flourishing ties between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
During the visit, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan welcomed the distinguished guest for bilateral talks, which further solidified the growing strategic partnership between the two neighboring nations.
The leaders also visited the renowned Eternal City historical and ethnographic complex and toured the “Mirages of Time” exhibition, which highlights the rich cultural and historical legacy of Central Asia.
A highlight of the visit was the presentation of Uzbekistan’s highest state award, the “Highest Degree of Friendship” Order, to Berdimuhamedov in a solemn ceremony recognizing his pivotal role in advancing regional cooperation, friendship, and mutual understanding.
President Mirziyoyev personally saw off his esteemed guest at Samarkand International Airport, concluding the visit with gestures of deep respect and enduring camaraderie. He later returned to Tashkent, capping a visit defined by shared vision and historical symbolism.
