Moscow, April 27, 2026 – The Europe Today: Russian President Vladimir Putin is being regularly briefed on Ukrainian drone attacks and the measures taken in response, according to Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
Speaking to journalists, Peskov said the president receives updates several times a day regarding attacks attributed to the “Kiev regime,” particularly following reported drone activity over the Ural region during the weekend. He emphasized that Putin is kept informed “continuously” about developments and response measures, with briefings provided at any time of the day if necessary.
Addressing reports suggesting that some unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) may have been launched from Kazakhstan, Peskov stated that determining the origin and geographical details of such attacks falls under the jurisdiction of Russia’s special services, primarily the military. He noted that these agencies are responsible for identifying the source of threats and deciding on appropriate countermeasures.
The Kremlin spokesman declined to comment on whether the matter had been discussed with Kazakh authorities, saying such details should be directed to the military.
On diplomatic engagements, Peskov confirmed that the Kremlin provides updates on contacts between President Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump whenever they occur. He added that official statements are issued, and presidential aide Yury Ushakov conducts briefings to inform the public about any such communications.
