Ashgabat, July 2, 2026 – The Europe Today: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on Tuesday hosted a briefing to present preparations for the World Equestrian Championship and Akhal-Teke Horse Beauty Contest, scheduled to take place from September 4 to 6, 2026, at the Pilbergen Equestrian Complex in Kronenberg, the Netherlands.
The briefing brought together heads and representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan, as well as representatives of domestic and international media, who were briefed on preparations for what will be the first event of its kind to be held in Europe.
Officials outlined the programme of activities planned for the championship, which aims to further enhance the global recognition and prestige of the Akhal-Teke horse, regarded as an invaluable national treasure and a source of pride for the Turkmen people.
The event is expected to serve as a major international platform for showcasing Turkmenistan’s rich equestrian heritage and promoting wider appreciation of the country’s unique cultural traditions.
According to the organizers, the championship and beauty contest will provide participants and visitors with an opportunity to gain deeper insight into the historical and cultural significance of the renowned Akhal-Teke breed while strengthening international cooperation in the field of equestrian sports and cultural exchange.
