Tbilisi, July 11, 2026 – The Europe Today: Georgian Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili and Turkmenistan’s Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov held a telephone conversation on July 9 to discuss preparations for the upcoming official visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Georgia, according to Georgia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the conversation, the two foreign ministers reviewed the current state of bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on organizational preparations for the forthcoming presidential visit, underscoring its significance for further strengthening relations between the two countries.
The ministers also emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation between Georgia and the countries of Central Asia, highlighting the region’s growing strategic importance and the need to deepen regional partnerships.
In addition, Botchorishvili and Meredov discussed prospects for further enhancing bilateral ties across areas of mutual interest and reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining high-level political dialogue and continued cooperation.
The telephone conversation reflected the shared determination of Georgia and Turkmenistan to strengthen their partnership and promote closer engagement through regular diplomatic exchanges and high-level visits.
