Rabat, July 20, 2026 – The Europe Today: Morocco’s national carrier, Royal Air Maroc (RAM), is set to receive a new Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner by the end of July as part of an ambitious fleet expansion programme aimed at strengthening its international network and reinforcing Morocco’s position as a regional aviation hub.

According to local media reports, the addition of the new aircraft will increase the airline’s fleet to 68 aircraft. Royal Air Maroc plans to continue taking delivery of new aircraft in the coming months, with its fleet expected to expand to 74 aircraft by the end of 2026 and 88 aircraft by 2027.

The fleet expansion coincides with the airline’s launch of 20 new direct international routes, connecting Morocco with several destinations, including Saint Petersburg, Los Angeles and Manchester, as part of efforts to broaden its global reach.

Royal Air Maroc’s Head of Engineering, Oussama El Farisi, previously said the airline’s long-term development strategy envisages the integration of 10 to 15 new aircraft annually to support its growth objectives.

The airline’s Chief Executive Officer, Hamid Addou, recently reaffirmed Royal Air Maroc’s commitment to its expansion strategy, describing the carrier as a key strategic hub for Morocco and an important gateway linking Africa, Europe, the Americas, Asia and the Middle East.

Announcing the airline’s summer operations programme, Addou said Royal Air Maroc would offer 8.2 million seats during the season while serving 86 international destinations with a fleet of approximately 67 aircraft.

He noted that the combination of increased capacity and a modernised fleet would further strengthen the airline’s role in connecting Morocco with global markets while meeting the travel needs of the Moroccan diaspora.

Addou also emphasized that enhancing the passenger experience remains a central priority, highlighting investments in newer aircraft, improved connectivity and continued efforts to provide greater comfort and service quality throughout customers’ journeys.
