Baku, September 16, 2026 – The Europe Today: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has called for intensified efforts to maintain peace and stability in the Turkic world and the Caucasus region amid growing confrontations in different parts of the world.
Speaking during a meeting in Baku with participants of international conferences, President Aliyev said that confrontations were no longer limited to individual countries, with multiple states becoming actively involved in conflicts in various regions.
“We see that many countries are already in confrontation in various regions. That is to say, these are not merely confrontations between two countries,” President Aliyev said.
He noted that the number of countries involved in such confrontations was increasing and that the geographical scope of what he described as bloody clashes was expanding.
“Many countries are already actively participating in these confrontations, and the geography of these bloody clashes is expanding,” Aliyev said.
The Azerbaijani President stressed the importance of collective efforts to prevent instability from spreading and to safeguard peace in the Turkic world and the Caucasus.
“Therefore, each of us must make great efforts to keep the Turkic world and the Caucasus region in a state of peace and to preserve that peace,” he added.
