Baku, November 5, 2026, The Europe Today: Internationally acclaimed violinist David Garrett presented his spectacular Millennium Symphony – Crossover Programme at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku, bringing together classical music, rock, pop and iconic film scores in a large-scale symphonic performance.

First Vice-President of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, accompanied by members of her family, attended the musical event.

During the performance, Garrett showcased his distinctive musical style by blending classical compositions with contemporary music and cinematic melodies. The programme featured works by renowned composers and artists, including Beethoven, Hans Zimmer and Michael Jackson, as well as music by internationally celebrated rock bands Nirvana and Rammstein.

David Garrett began his professional stage career at the age of 10 and made history at 13 by becoming the youngest artist ever to sign a contract with the prestigious German classical music label Deutsche Grammophon.

Following his graduation, Garrett continued collaborating with some of the world’s most distinguished conductors, including Zubin Mehta, Christoph Eschenbach, Riccardo Chailly and Andrés Orozco-Estrada.

One of the notable achievements of his musical career is the classical album ICONIC, which reached fourth place on Germany’s mainstream album charts, an exceptional accomplishment for a classical music recording.

The album also received a Gold Record award and the Opus Klassik 2023 award in the category of “Bestseller of the Year.”

Garrett subsequently embarked on an international tour featuring the classical repertoire, performing 113 concerts across five continents.

The Baku performance further highlighted the Heydar Aliyev Center’s role as an important cultural venue hosting internationally recognized musicians and promoting global artistic and musical exchange.
