President Putin’s visit precedes his attendance at the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit.
The SCO, established in 2001, was founded by Kazakhstan, China, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, with Iran, India, and Pakistan joining the organization in subsequent years. The summit is expected to address key regional security and economic cooperation issues among member states.
Prime Minister Bektenov and President Putin are anticipated to discuss bilateral relations and regional cooperation on the sidelines of the summit, reinforcing the strong ties between Kazakhstan and Russia.
