Beijing, July 15, 2024, The Europe Today: China’s courier sector experienced robust double-digit growth in both business volume and revenue during the first half of 2024, according to official data released by the State Post Bureau.
Express delivery firms across the nation handled 80.16 billion parcels during this period, representing a substantial 23.1 percent increase year on year. The sector also generated a total operating revenue of 653 billion yuan (approximately 91.57 billion U.S. dollars), marking a 15.1 percent rise compared to the same period last year.

June alone saw the sector handle 14.57 billion parcels, a 17.7 percent increase from the previous year. In addition, China’s postal industry handled a total of 89.42 billion parcels during the first half of the year, which was 20.5 percent higher than a year ago.
This growth has been supported by large-scale equipment renewal and trade-in initiatives. China’s courier sector companies have accelerated the phase-out of old sorting and security check equipment, increased the adoption of new energy vehicles, and promoted upgrades to intelligent and low-carbon equipment, according to the State Post Bureau.
