Baku, December 30, 2024 – The Europe Today: Following the directive of the President of Azerbaijan, a humanitarian aid convoy departed from Baku today to support the Syrian people in addressing urgent humanitarian needs.
The convoy comprises 10 trucks carrying nearly 200 tons of food and essential supplies. The aid will traverse through Georgia and Türkiye before reaching the “Çobanbey” border crossing at the Türkiye-Syria border. Distribution of the supplies in Syria’s Idlib region will be coordinated with the assistance of Türkiye’s Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD).
During the send-off ceremony, representatives from Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs underscored the country’s commitment to extending assistance to those in need. This humanitarian initiative reaffirms Azerbaijan’s solidarity with communities facing critical challenges, reflecting its dedication to international humanitarian efforts.
