Islamabad, October 8, 2025 – The Europe Today: The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) and the Republic of Tajikistan have agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation across a wide range of fields, including trade, investment, technology, health, and climate change.
The understanding was reached during a meeting between H.E. Dr. Jemal Beker Abdula, Special Envoy and Ambassador Extraordinary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to Tajikistan (with residence in Islamabad), and H.E. Sharifzoda Yusuf Toir, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan in Pakistan.
Held at the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Islamabad, the meeting focused on identifying potential areas for both bilateral and multilateral collaboration aimed at further deepening the relationship between the two nations.
Ambassador Dr. Jemal briefed Ambassador Sharifzoda Yusuf on Ethiopia’s remarkable progress under the leadership of Prime Minister H.E. Dr. Abiy Ahmed, who has implemented wide-ranging political, economic, social, and legal reforms. He also highlighted Ethiopia’s homegrown economic reforms, which have created significant opportunities for trade, investment, and business cooperation.
Ambassador Sharifzoda Yusuf commended the visionary leadership of Ethiopia and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the partnership between Tajikistan and Ethiopia, emphasizing the shared goals of development and prosperity.
