Tajikistan, Slovenia Explore Joint Pharmaceutical Production and Expanded Economic Cooperation

Dushanbe, May 8, 2026 – The Europe Today: Tajikistan and Slovenia are planning to jointly produce pharmaceutical products in Tajikistan as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral trade and economic cooperation, according to reports by Khovar.

The initiative was discussed during a meeting between Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Akhliddin Nuriddinzoda and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Slovenia to Tajikistan, Alenka Suhadolnik.

According to the ministry, both sides reviewed the current state of bilateral trade and economic relations and stressed the importance of diversifying export products and expanding trade ties as key priorities for future cooperation.

The discussions also focused on several promising sectors for collaboration, including pharmaceuticals, hydropower, green technologies, agricultural processing, the textile industry and information technologies.

Officials noted that the planned joint pharmaceutical production initiative could contribute to industrial development, technology transfer and deeper economic engagement between the two countries.
