President Rahmon Inaugurates Orphan and Disability Care Facility in Khovaling

Dushanbe, June 21, 2026 – The Europe Today: President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon continued his working visit to Khovaling District, where he visited Shekhmizon village and officially commissioned a new recreational and care facility for orphans and persons with disabilities.

The facility was constructed by local entrepreneurs from the Karimov and Odinaev families in connection with the upcoming 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The newly inaugurated complex comprises 20 dormitory rooms, administrative offices, and well-equipped classrooms for training in sewing, carpentry, and drawing skills. It also includes a meeting hall, library, medical room, bath facilities, and storage areas for provisions.

The premises feature two swimming pools, football and volleyball grounds, and a children’s playground designed to ensure suitable conditions for recreation, education, and social development of orphans and persons with disabilities. In addition, a greenhouse has been established on 40 sotikh of land.

According to officials, the facility has provided permanent employment to 30 local residents, contributing to job creation in the area.

The establishment of such a social institution was highlighted as a clear example of the Government of Tajikistan’s social policy aimed at improving living conditions, education, care, and recreation for vulnerable groups.

President Rahmon inspected the facilities and praised the initiative of local entrepreneurs as well as the quality of the construction work. He also issued instructions to ensure high-standard service delivery, proper upbringing and care, and sustained attention to orphans and persons with disabilities.

The President further emphasized the importance of effective utilization of the modern facility in coordination with local and national education authorities.
