Dushanbe, July 27, 2026 – The Europe Today: Tajikistan will host the “Architect-2026” National Exhibition-Competition of the Best Architectural and Urban Planning Projects on August 7–8, 2026, at the Sughd Arena in Khujand, according to the Committee for Architecture and Construction under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The event will be organized in accordance with the 2026 National Calendar of Anniversary Celebrations, Festivals, Exhibitions, Cultural and Educational Competitions, and Traditional Folk Arts Events.
The exhibition-competition aims to identify the country’s best architectural and urban planning projects developed by architects, designers, and creative teams across Tajikistan. It also seeks to showcase achievements in contemporary architectural design, enhance the social significance of the architecture, urban planning, and construction professions, and promote higher standards in the quality of the built environment.
The national competition will feature several categories, including Best Multi-Storey Residential Project, Best Social, Public, and Cultural Building or Complex, covering educational institutions, healthcare and recreational facilities, sports venues, shopping centers, hotels, administrative buildings, and technology parks.
A separate category will recognize Outstanding Student Architectural Projects, providing an opportunity for university students and creative teams to present innovative design concepts and demonstrate their professional talent.
The “Architect-2026” exhibition-competition is expected to bring together leading architects, urban planners, designers, academics, and students from across Tajikistan to exchange ideas, highlight best practices, and encourage innovation in sustainable urban development and modern architectural design.
