Hanoi, April 05, 2024, The Europe Today: In a gesture of friendship and solidarity, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Việt Nam (CPV) Central Committee Nguyễn Phú Trọng conveyed warm wishes and floral tributes to mark the Bunpimay Festival of Laos and the Chol Chnam Thmay Festival of Cambodia.
Addressing General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary Trọng expressed heartfelt wishes for good health, happiness, and prosperity for the people of Laos. He commended Laos’s notable achievements and expressed confidence in its continued success under the leadership of the LPRP.
Trọng affirmed Việt Nam’s unwavering support for Laos’s chairmanship of ASEAN and the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) in 2024, aiming to enhance Laos’s regional stature.
In a separate letter to CPP President and President of the Cambodian Senate Hun Sen, General Secretary Trọng extended similar sentiments of well-being and success. He congratulated Hun Sen on his election as the President of the Cambodian Senate and lauded Cambodia’s achievements under his leadership.
Trọng expressed confidence in Cambodia’s continued progress under the leadership of King Norodom Sihamoni and the CPP-led government. He underscored Việt Nam’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and contributing to regional peace and stability.
Additionally, Trương Thị Mai, Politburo member, and head of the Party Central Committee’s Organisation Commission, and Lê Hoài Trung, head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations, extended greetings and floral tributes to their counterparts in Laos and Cambodia.
The gestures exemplify the enduring friendship and cooperation between Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia, fostering mutual prosperity and regional development.
