Lahore, January 19, 2024, The Europe Today: Zaka Ashraf presided over the fourth meeting of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s Management Committee (MC) on Friday at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. The committee, consisting of ten members, convened to discuss various aspects of PCB affairs and financial matters. One member, Mr Khurram Karim Somroo, joined the meeting online, while the remaining nine members were present in person as reported by The Gulf Observer.
During the meeting, members received briefings on PCB affairs, including financial updates presented by the Chief Financial Officer, covering periodic Management Accounts and financial projections for the remaining fiscal year.
Chairman MC Zaka Ashraf took the opportunity to provide a summary of the milestones achieved during the tenure of the current MC, which was constituted in the first week of July. Expressing gratitude, Ashraf thanked fellow committee members, the PCB management, and staff for their support during this period. In turn, members of the MC and the PCB management expressed appreciation for Ashraf’s leadership.
In a surprising turn of events, Zaka Ashraf, at the conclusion of the meeting, announced his decision to tender his resignation as Chairman and member of the MC. He directed his resignation to the honorable Patron Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar.
In his closing remarks, Ashraf expressed gratitude to the honorable Patron PCB for the confidence and trust placed in him. He extended his best wishes and prayers for the betterment of Pakistan and Pakistan cricket, marking the end of his tenure as the Chairman of the PCB’s Management Committee.
