On Diplomat’s Day, Turkmenistan and UNICEF Forge Deeper Ties with Agreements Involving 11 Key Government Organizations

Ashgabat, February 19, 2024, The Europe Today: Government of Turkmenistan and UNICEF solidified their commitment to the well-being of the country’s children and youth by signing ten work plans. These collaborative initiatives, spanning various government sectors, underscore a robust partnership aimed at advancing child rights and fostering sustainable development.

UNICEF formalized cooperation plans with 11 key government organizations, emphasizing a comprehensive approach to addressing the needs of children and youth. The signing ceremony included representatives from the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Office of the Ombudsman, the State Committee on Statistics, the Institute of State, Law and Democracy, the State Committee for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography, and the Women’s Union of Turkmenistan.

These signed agreements not only affirm the continuation of ongoing initiatives but also mark the initiation of new strategies aimed at the effective implementation of child rights in Turkmenistan. The commitments outlined in these documents align with the principles outlined in the Convention on the Rights of the Child, demonstrating a shared dedication to ensuring the protection and realization of children’s rights.
