Alisher Qayumov Assumes Duties as Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Singapore

Tashkent, March 14, 2024, The Europe Today: Alisher Qayumov, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan, has commenced his tenure in Singapore, marking the beginning of his diplomatic service in the Southeast Asian nation, as reported by Uzbek media sources.

Prior to his assignment in Singapore, Ambassador Qayumov served as a counselor at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Germany, where he contributed to fostering bilateral relations and diplomatic initiatives.

With a distinguished career spanning various roles within Uzbekistan’s diplomatic corps, the 54-year-old diplomat brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role. He is a graduate of Tashkent State University, now known as the National University of Uzbekistan, where he acquired a solid foundation in international relations.

Throughout his career, Ambassador Qayumov has held positions within the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, now the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade, demonstrating a keen understanding of trade and economic dynamics. His tenure at the Uzbek embassy in Germany further honed his skills as a consultant on trade and economic matters, facilitating bilateral exchanges and fostering economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and its partners.

Notably, as a counselor at the embassy, Ambassador Qayumov played a pivotal role in managing diplomatic missions within international organizations based in Austria and Vienna, showcasing his adeptness in multilateral diplomacy.
