Kazakhstan and Pakistan Strengthen Educational Ties

Islamabad, June 08, 2024, The Europe Today: On June 6, 2024, Y.Kistafin, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, met with Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, to discuss enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the field of education.

Ambassador Kistafin emphasized the importance of strengthening and diversifying cooperation between Kazakhstan and Pakistan, with a particular focus on education. He highlighted the measures being taken to foster interactions between higher educational institutions in both countries and suggested involving authorized institutions from Kazakhstan and Pakistan in this collaborative effort.

Chairman Ahmed briefed the Ambassador on Pakistan’s higher education policy, which aims to improve quality and establish robust interactions with foreign partners. He noted that cooperation between universities could facilitate joint research projects, thus elevating the partnership in the field of science to a new level.

During the meeting, Ambassador Kistafin extended an invitation to Dr. Ahmed and the heads of Pakistani universities to visit Kazakhstan. The visit would include discussions with the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan and various educational institutions to create a favorable institutional environment and identify promising areas for cooperation.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to organize negotiations between the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan in the near future, marking a significant step forward in educational collaboration between the two nations.
