Flamengo Manager Tite to Be Discharged from Hospital After Heart Condition

Rio de Janeiro, August 23, 2024, The Europe Today: Flamengo manager Tite, whose real name is Adenor Leonardo Bacchi, is scheduled to be discharged from the Copa Star hospital on Saturday following treatment for an irregular heartbeat, the Rio de Janeiro club announced.

Tite, 63, was admitted to the hospital on Friday morning after experiencing health issues on a flight from La Paz, Bolivia. According to a statement from Flamengo, the coach has shown significant improvement. “Coach Tite displayed good clinical progress with the treatment provided,” the statement read. “The arrhythmia has been reversed, and his heart rate has now normalized.”

Flamengo reported that Tite will leave the hospital on Saturday but is advised to rest for the next 48 hours. In his absence, his son, Matheus, will manage the team for their upcoming Brazilian Serie A match against Bragantino at the Maracanã Stadium on Sunday.

The news follows Flamengo’s narrow 1-0 defeat to Bolivar in the second leg of their Copa Libertadores round of 16 tie on Thursday. Despite the loss, Flamengo advanced to the next stage with a 2-1 aggregate victory.
