President Xi Jinping Encourages Industrial Workers to Boost China’s Manufacturing Strength and Revitalize Northeast

Beijing, September 28, 2024 – The Europe Today: Chinese President Xi Jinping has urged industrial workers to continue contributing their expertise and efforts toward strengthening China’s manufacturing industry and advancing the comprehensive revitalization of northeast China.

Xi, who also serves as General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks in a letter addressed to representatives of workers from China First Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. (CFHI), a major equipment manufacturer based in Qiqihar, Heilongjiang Province.

Recalling his visits to CFHI, Xi expressed admiration for the workers’ commitment to technological innovation and high-quality production, which he described as a testament to their patriotism and ingenuity in the modern era.

He praised their recent breakthroughs in addressing core technological challenges in major equipment manufacturing, and encouraged them to maintain their dedication to serving the nation with their skills, while upholding the spirit of model workers and craftsmanship.

President Xi emphasized that manufacturing is the bedrock of a nation, and that centrally-administered enterprises, such as CFHI, must continue to drive reform, innovation, and enhance their competitiveness. He called on these enterprises to play a key role in realizing China’s broader goal of becoming a strong nation, and contributing to the country’s national rejuvenation through modernization.

Representatives of the CFHI workers had written to Xi, reporting their efforts to advance technological research and expressing their determination to contribute to the full revitalization of northeast China.

Xi’s message reflects his longstanding focus on revitalizing the manufacturing sector and supporting innovation, with particular emphasis on the role of workers in achieving national modernization goals.
